Last day of preschool...

Cayden has loved going to preschool this year and has had fun each week playing with his friends:) The last day of preschool was filled with lots of fun games, popsicles and treats!! What a way to end a great year:)
The best part was trying to throw water balloons at the teacher (luckily for Miss Lindsey no one had a good aim)!!:)

13.1

I finally ran my first 1/2 Marathon, the Ogden 1/2! We were lucky and last minute got to take Danielle's brother and sister-in-laws spots in the sold out race, thanks!!! My official time was 2:17:00 which was better than I had expected! Danielle, being the amazing runner that she is ran it in 1:50:57!!!
We spent the weekend at an amazing condo in Eden, Ut. with our friends, Danielle and Jeremy along with their 3 kids. There kids are the same ages as ours so it worked out perfect:) We all had a great time, especially the kids!

The kids got to run there very own race (I think it was a little under a mile but after already running earlier it felt like 5)!! We have decided that Cayden will be a receiver one day he is such a fast runner:) When the kids finished they each got a cowbell for their medal.

The kids lived in the hot tub, we had a beautiful view!

The kids loved having a sleepover everynight too!! Cayden actually slept ALL night in his own bed for the first time in 3 years!! I hope he continues this now that we are home:)

Supermodel

Carlie and her friend Bailey:)
I was lucky to get this picture, it is crazy at these things!!
Elite Dance Academy Small Jazzline
Carlie had her dance competition today at Lagoon and her team took 1st place!! They did such a great job!! They danced to the song Supermodel. We stayed the rest of the day and went on lots of rides. The kids loved it so much Cayden left crying because he loved the place so much he didn't want to leave!! Lance was sick after the first ride (he doesn't do well with any rides that spin, which is pretty much every ride) so I was the lucky one who got to go on all of the little kids rides while Lance sat and watched:) It was a fun day!

Tour de Summerlin

the kids loved playing at the park while we waited
Finish Line, 80 miles in 4 hrs. 31 min.

We just got back from a weekend in Las Vegas. We went down there for a bike race. The weather was perfect for a bike race and we enjoyed being able to play in the warm weather too:)

Red & White

It is no secret that Lance is a Utah Football fan! It was time again for the Red & White game where they show off the new players. Carlie really wanted to go with Lance this year. She was so excited and had to make sure that she wore something red of course:)

Could have lived without this one!!

Cayden decided the only way to keep Carlie's Kazoo away from her (as she is chasing him down the hall) was to flush it down the toilet!! He has never played in the toilet or flushed things in the past so I thought for sure we were past that! Needless to say it took an entire night of removing the toilet and taking it outside to get that stupid thing out!! It went in the trash (I am assuming, I wasn't going to touch it) and we threatened Cayden that if he ever did something like that again he would lose one of his toy trains!! I think we are pretty safe (at least I hope so) because he gaurds those trains with his life!!:)

Fireman Day!

Today at preschool a fireman (one of the other kids Dad) came and brought his firetruck! The kids were very excited. He talked to them about fire safety, put on his suit and even let some of the kids try on parts of it. The best part was getting to climb in the firetruck and when he turned on the siren:) The kids got a hat and badge. The badge is now an automatic piece of clothing that Cayden makes sure we attach to his shirt everyday!!:)

Puzzles...............

Cayden loves putting together puzzles and he is quite good at it too:) He put these together all by himself while I was helping Carlie with her homework one night. He has more patience than me!!

Where I got to spend the last 9 days.....

We started off our little vacation by stopping at Disneyland. We went there 10 years ago for our honeymoon so it seemed appropriate to go back (we couldn't tell our kids though, they would have been so sad)!! We both agreed that it wasn't as fun not having our kids with us!!:)
We just spent a day there before heading out the next day on a 7 night cruise to the Mexican Riviera!
We couldn't have had better weather! We spent as much time outside in the sun as possible:) We had a balcony this time which we loved! We loved being able to just relax without having to be around all of the people. The ship was pretty crowded since it was Spring Break. It will be hard to ever go again and not have a balcony!!:)
If you haven't cruised before we would at least recommend having a room with a window:) The first port we visited was Mazatlan. My idea of being adventurous was getting in a taxi with a stranger (in Mexico) and hoping they took us where we wanted to go!! They don't have seat belts and they drive like crazy people!! It makes Utah drivers look good!:) They don't even drive in the lanes they just cut people off and skip from lane to lane constantly swerving around other cars as fast as they can!!
We have never done that, we always book all of our excursions through the cruise ship because it is safer and you don't have to worry about the ship leaving you if you don't get back in time for some reason.
I am just nervous to do some things especially when you are in a different country (especially these days)!! Lance's idea of being adventurous was walking down the beach and paying some random person to go para sailing on the spur of the moment (another thing we never have done)! First of all they don't worry about how many boats are out in the water crossing paths nor do they worry how many people are up at one time (they are just trying to make money)!! They didn't even know where Lance was at they had so many people up in the sky at one time (they said "there's your husband over there" and pointed to a dot in the sky, when the person landed it wasn't him)!! I don't know if it was a good thing or bad thing that they suited him up before he had time to change his mind!! Afterwards we saw some tourists who said they were going to do the same thing but then they noticed that there were some holes in the parachute!!!!!

There were a couple times where Lance thought he was going to get tangled up in someone else's line! They kept asking me if I wanted to do it and there was no way!!!

We got to eat amazing food the entire trip! They had the best chocolate chip cookies (we ate way too many):)
The next port we visited was Porto Viarta.
We went on a Canopy excursion. We zip lined to 11 platforms, hiked and then rappelled 2 times! I thought it would be scary (and I was pretty nervous the first time) but after that it was so much fun!! You were hooked up to so many cables that you didn't worry about falling.
The place we went was actually the first zip line in Mexico. They didn't let you take camera's, they had their own photographer that came along and then you could buy the
pictures afterwards (smart marketing, who is not going to want pictures after doing something like this)!! Our last port was Cabo San Lucas. We have been there before (but spent the entire time on an excursion) so this time we just wanted to walk around and see what Cabo was like.
We ate at a really good Mexican restaurant called Solomon's. The part we didn't like was having the little kids (5 and 7 year olds coming up to us constantly trying to sell us things).
I had never really seen this before and we knew that Mexico is not just pretty beaches but I didn't like seeing kids my own kids ages walking around begging for money! Coming back to San Diego from Cabo was really rough waves. Half of the boat was sick on Friday! Luckily we didn't get sick but we got a little taste of what it feels like to be motion sick and I don't think we would ever cruise if we had to deal with that the entire time!!
It was a really fun vacation with just the two of us but I was happy to come back and see my kids again and I think the kids were ready for us to come home too:)
