Tour de Donut 2012

"The Team" getting ready to try and keep their 1st place title from last year

Karl and his moment of fame:)

1 lap down and 6 donuts:) 2 more laps to go and one more chance to eat more donuts!

In almost every picture someone looks like they are going to throw up!! That is the number one rule, you can't throw up along the donut line!! You have to wait until you go around the corner:) Very considerate of the people who run this race, who really wants to see that!! :)

Lance just finished racing 21 miles and ate 10 donuts!!! (You get 3 min. deducted off your time for each donut you eat)

Waiting for awards to begin, it was soooo hot!!!

1st place for the 2nd year in a row!!

The kids are always so proud of their dad!! Especially when he wins a trophy:)

Our first garden

Cayden ready to plant a garden:) I told him to go get some gloves (I meant gardening gloves)!!

My dad came and helped us start our very 1st garden (since I had no clue where to start)!! He started some of the plants a while back since it was taking us so long to get our yard finished.
The kids loved planting the seeds:)

Thanks Dad!!

Now I just hope something grows (at least just the zucchini so I can make zucchini bread)!!!

Fire!!

About a week ago we had just put the kids to bed, it was 10:30 (a lot later than normal or they would have been asleep) and we were in our room watching Jay Leno:) Carlie came running into our room screaming and crying histerically that there was a fire and our house was going to burn down!! We both ran to the front door expecting the neighbors house to be on fire and this was the view from our front porch!
She had heard sirens and looked out her bedroom window and saw this! It looked a lot closer than it looks in this picture but you get the idea of how big it was! We live across the street from a river and surrounding it are a lot of trees and walking trails. The fire was already pretty big and you could hear the sound of the fire (we were that close)!! We know how quickly fires can get out of control and start spreading so we just watched. At this point the fireman were still trying to figure out how to get to it. After watching for about an hour making sure it wasn't going to continue to get worse and spread we went inside to try and calm the kids (mostly Carlie) down!! Both kids ended up sleeping in our bed which meant we got no sleep.....and got no sleep for the next week because Carlie was so scared there was going to be another fire! I think we are finally starting to sleep around here only because we are so exhausted! Come to find out there has been 4 fires in the same spot in the last month! Thankfully the other ones have not been as big and we have somehow missed seeing them (so Carlie thinks there has only been one). Hopefully they catch this person soon that enjoys setting fires before one gets out of control.......
