NEW YORK CITY

Lance had to go visit one of his clients in New Jersey and I was lucky enough to tag along!! Our first stop once we arrived in New Jersey was to go to Carlo's Bakery (aka Cake Boss)!! We love that show and couldn't wait to go check it out:) It was exactly everything it looks like on the show except we made it there not too long before they were closing so we unfortunately didn't get to see Buddy or any of his famous sisters! There are many shops and restaurants on the same street, you could spend all day walking up and down that street.

There was so many things to choose from so I just picked the fanciest looking thing they had!! It tasted as good as it looks:) I also had a really big M&M cookie but I ate it before thinking about taking a picture:) We ate lots of desserts during the trip and none of them compared to the ones at Carlo's bakery!! Good thing we live so far away from this place:)
This is what Lance picked out!! The cupcake had the peanut butter frosting on it that Buddy says is his wife's favorite!!

Lance took this picture on his cell phone while we were sitting on the bench outside Carlo's Bakery! I thought it was pretty funny:) It was the closest picture we could get of someone that maybe works in Carlo's bakery?!?!
New York City from New Jersey
The next day after Lance was finished working we rode a bus across the river to New York City!! We had 2 days to see everything we could! I think we did a pretty good job of seeing New York City (30 hours of walking later)!!

I was thinking, what is the big deal about Macy's (we have one here)!! That place is HUGE!! I think each department is as big as our entire store!! I think there was 6 floors (I lost count). On one of the levels they had a Ben & Jerry's, Pretzel place and Pizza restaurant!! That was just on the one floor, they also have other restaurants throughout including the Cellar which is a nice restaurant!!

We didn't ride the subway as much as we should have but it was nice at the end when we were tired of walking everywhere!

Ground Zero, isn't much to look at right now other than the memorial that is off to the side but from the drawings that they have showing what it will look like, it will be beautiful one day!!

Brooklyn Bridge
China Town, stayed just long enough to find 2 cute purses and eat dinner at a restaurant in Little Italy:)
Statue of Liberty
New York Stock Exchange
Grand Central Station, a major transportation hub for New York City

Lance was very excited to go to Wall Street!!
We went to the Broadway Show, Catch Me If You Can! It was really good. There are so many Broadway shows to go to that it is hard to pick just one!! You can get discounted tickets through a place called TKTS at Times Square. They have lots of shows to choose from for same day tickets.
Times Square was more amazing than I ever could have imagined!! Think of Vegas times 10!! I have never seen so many people in one place at the same time! It doesn't matter what time of day either, there are a million people (this picture below was taken around midnight)!! There are a million shops, restaurants, Broadway Theaters, it would take you days to try and see everything!! If you look really closely you can see the New Years Eve ball that is dropped (it looks so much bigger on T.V.)!!

We went to the Rockefeller Center. The Today Show had just ended and they were starting to tape the Kathie Lee and Hoda Show! I had hoped to go early enough to see Meredith, Matt and Al but it was too early to get up (especially with the 2 hour time difference)!!

Where the Rockettes live:)
We also went to the American Girl Doll store (at Carlie's request). That place was amazing and I hope one day we can take Carlie there and let her experience it!! They have every doll and outfit imaginable! You can get the doll's ears pierced and hair done however you want, among many other things!! If you ever go there be prepared to spend lots and lots of money!!!

Many movies have scenes in them at Central Park. This fountain is in the movie Enchanted, we love that movie at our house!!
Central Park was one of our favorite places!! When you get to the entrance of the park there are many people waiting there trying to talk you into paying them to take you through the park either in a horse drawn carriage or some ride a bike with a two seater trailer attached. They hassle you with their overpriced packages!! We started out with the guy wanting $180.00 and in the end paid him $50.00 to give us a 20 minute ride through a small portion of the park!! Never pay what they say in the beginning, I think we tried to walk away about 5 times before the guy came down to what we would agree to pay!! We never intended to go on any of the guided tours but we started to feel bad for the guy after he chased us down that many times!! He said he would give us a good deal since it was a "slow" day!!! In the end we walked through most of the park anyway so that we could stop and look and take pictures. It was a fun experience but we wish we would have saved our money and just walked the park in the beginning! We went back twice to Central Park we loved it so much!!

The weather couldn't have been better, it waited to rain until the morning we left!! It was a very fast but fun trip!!

Goldilocks & Dancing

Today was the Goldilocks GIRLS only bike ride in Herriman, Utah! You can choose how far you ride, anywhere from 20 to 1oo miles!! It was my first bike ride and unfortunately my first bike accident!! I wasn't too far into it and I crashed!!! After the paramedics said it was up to me whether I continued or not I chose to continue!! It had already been a big deal for me to do the ride because I had earlier in the week injured my ankle from running and didn't know if I was going to be able to do it. I figured I had gone through so much to get here I couldn't just quit now!! I continued on and in the end rode 65 miles in 6.5 hours (crazy, I know I realize that now)!!!!
This was definitely the worst of my injuries!! Road rash is 10 times more painful than it looks in this picture, just saying!! I am feeling the pain now but it was a fun experience in the end (except for the crashing part) and hopefully now that my first crash is out of the way there won't be anymore (or I might have to find a new sport)!!:)
The side of my knee from hitting the cross bar!!
Finish Line
While I was doing the bike ride Carlie was at a Dance Competition. We didn't know she was going to have a dance competition the same day when I signed up for the Goldilocks! In the future we will not do 2 major events in the same day, too chaotic and stressful!! Carlie did so well though and had a fun time!! She performed a Jazz dance and Ballet dance.
Stretching before they go out

A Summerlin Weekend......

We went to Las Vegas for the weekend for the Tour de Summerlin bike ride. It is an 80 mile bike ride but due to the 40 to 50 mph winds it ended up being a very windy and cold 50 mile bike ride for these three!!

Mirage Hotel and Casino
The swimming pool at our hotel was on the very top of the roof!! The kids thought that was cool until we got to the top and found out how cold it was due to the very high winds, they lasted about 2 minutes before they wanted to go back inside!!
Saturday after the bike ride we went to St. George (our favorite place to be)!!
