Snowman Cookies

I found this recipe for snowman cookies! The kids thought it was so fun to make and decorate. The recipe says to use refrigerated sugar cookie dough but I had this simple recipe that I was excited to try and so I used that instead. Still very easy and simple:)

Easy Sugar Cookies

2 3/4 C. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 C. butter, softened
1 1/2 C. white sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla extract

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. In a small bowl stir together flour, baking soda and baking powder, set aside. In large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until smooth. Beat in egg and vanilla, gradually blend in dry ingredients. Roll rounded tsp. of dough into balls and place on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake 8-10 minutes or until golden brown. Let sit on cookie sheet for 2 minutes before placing on cooling rack. Makes 2-3 dozen.

Decorate with mini chocolate chips (eyes), candy corns (nose) and red hots (mouth).

This recipe is really sweet. I prefer the old fashioned sugar cookie recipe where you cut-out the cookies but this is a fun and quick way to make cookies if you don't have a lot of time:)

Yummy! I love sugar cookies! Derek was wearing the outfit you gave him, did you notice? It looks like our hubbys owe us two girls night outs now! : )

Those look really yummy. In fact, Abbi was with me while I read the post and she thought they were pretty cool. With the kids being off track the entire month of December, I'm going to need a lot of ideas to keep them busy. These cookies will be on the list.

They look really good! We'll have to make them. Kaden loves being in the kitchen and making treats.
