Carlie had her 1st grade field trip for the year. I am glad they only have one a year because the parents have to volunteer to drive! I don't mind going along on a field trip but to find enough parents to drive that many kids isn't always so easy! Since it is once for the whole year they tried to fit in as many places into one day as they could!! We started by going to Roberts Crafts and they got to make an easter egg craft with a little chick inside. We then went to Harmons where they took us on a tour of all the departments and even got to have samples. I think everyone's favorite was the bakery where they gave out pumpkin chocolate chip cookies:)
We couldn't leave without everyone getting a balloon. Cold Stone was next. The kids
got to go in the room where they make the ice cream. Of course we didn't leave without getting a sample of freshly made ice cream:) The Fire Department was next but as we were heading over the fireman were leaving. They
luckily came back before too long and the kids got to sit in the firetruck and even time a fireman to see how fast he could put on his complete suit (it is pretty fast)!!
The kids thought that was pretty fun and the highlight was when they turned on the siren!! We got to end the field trip with a picnic at the park. The kids didn't seem to mind how cold it was (it had been snowing off and on all morning).
