"Monkey Munchies"

We have fallen in love with Jon & Kate plus eight! It is a show on TLC about a family with one set of twins and then a set of sextuplets! It is so amazing to see how they live and handle eight kids!! They are amazing and it is so fun to watch. They make things sometimes and one episode they made "Monkey Munchies", also known as Muddy Buddies. We of course had to make it afterwards, it is so good it is now our new favorite treat!!

Monkey Munchies

9 cups Chex® cereal (any variety)
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup peanut butter
1/4 cup butter or margarine
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 1/2 cups powdered sugar

Into large bowl, measure cereal; set aside. In 1-quart saucepan, heat chocolate chips, peanut butter and butter over low heat, stirring frequently, until melted. Remove from heat; stir in vanilla. Pour mixture over cereal, stirring until evenly coated. Pour into 2-gallon resealable food-storage plastic bag. Add powdered sugar. Seal bag; shake until well coated. Spread on waxed paper to cool. Store in airtight container in refrigerator.

I just made these for our trip to Bear Lake and ate WAY too many of them. I'm pretty sure I'm okay if I don't see them again for another year. So yummy but so deadly!

What a perfect, sweet snack for camping! I am definitely planning on making these before we go. I've had them before, but have forgotten about them. Thanks for posting it!

I've had those before and they are so yummy! I have to ask... how did you find out about Within Temptation? I have their CD because my dad is always going to Europe and bringing us back music, but I've never known anyone else who knows about the bands! He is actually the manager for a band called Renegade 5 (a new Swedish band) that is REALLY good if you like to find new music to listen to. :-)

Thank you for posting this recipe! I have started watching J&K plus 8 just a couple of weeks ago and it is such a cute show! I cannot imagine having that many little kids, but it is fun to watch someone else do it! :) But I saw the show where they made this and have been wanting to find the recipe so thanks again for posting it!
