This year Carlie was so excited to go back to school! We had a much smoother transition than last year and Carlie loves her new teacher, Mrs. Oz:)

One last Summer getaway!
We went up to Park City for one last getaway for the summer:) We went shopping, ate at a really good Mexican Restaurant, El Chubasco, went swimming, watched people practice ski jumping into water at the Olympic Park and went down the Alpine Slide (after some convincing)!! It was a fun weekend and we are sad to see the summer fun come to an end!!:)
Getting ready to ride chairlift to top of slide:)
Riding the chairlift to the top of the mountain, Carlie is getting more nervous!!
Cayden can't wait!!
Last chance to turn around!! Too bad there was only 1 way down at this point or Carlie may have taken it:)
We made it!! "That was so much fun, can we go again??"

Tour de Utah
We went up to Snowbird and watched the final leg of the Tour de Utah. The kids thought it was fun to watch the bikers race up the mountain and ring there cow bells!! It is amazing how many days and miles they ride in the end. Just going up the canyon to Snowbird would have been enough for me:)
This was the winner of the Snowbird portion of the race
Jai Crawford, Fly V Australia
The "crazy" people always come out to these events!! This guy would run along the racers as they would come and pour water on them and try to push them up the hill!!
Everyone just lined their cars up the side of the canyon to watch

Dinosaur Park
We took the kids to the Dinosaur Park in Ogden. A lot of it is outside so you want to go on a "good" weather day but maybe not on a day when it is 100 degrees:)
The kids favorite part was digging for "real" dinosaur bones:)
It was a fun day and my kids are both happy that dinosaurs are not alive today!!:)

Mesquite 2010
For the last few summers we have traveled to Mesquite, Nevada with Lance's family. The kids love playing with there cousins and love the waterslides! It was between 115 degrees and 120 degrees the entire trip!! It is one of the hottest places I have ever been. We live at the pool and only get out to go to dinner:)
Carlie loved the waterslides and especially loved that she could touch the bottom of the pool this year!! She could go down the slides all by herself and not have to be caught at the bottom:)
Cayden decided when we got to Mesquite that he could swim now on his own (as long as he had his life jacket on). He loved it because he could go in the deep part and he could go down the slide by himself and swim back over to the side of the pool!!
Cayden loved the waterslides and went down them at least 100 times during the week!!

Tour de Donut 2010
It was time again for one of Lance's favorite races!! This year it was a little different. A few days before the race a local cyclist was hit and killed while riding with her friends.
(copy and paste link to read story, sorry I don't know how to link)
Family and friends of Elizabeth "Bunny" Bradley came to honor her. At the beginning of the race they let balloons go and then the family and friends got to ride the first lap before the official race started. It was nice that so many family and friends came to remember her! Even her parents rode the first lap along with everyone else!! I didn't personally know her but just having my husband involved in the same sport it was sad to think about how quickly something can happen. It was sad to think she was just doing something she loved and how something so tragic could happen.
After, the official race started. You ride 7 laps, eat donuts, ride 7 laps, eat donuts and then finish with a final 7 laps!! You get 3 min. deducted off your time for each donut you eat so there is a big incentive to eat donuts until you are sick!!!
2 Caveman even showed up and brought there "dinosaur"!! They rode the race barefoot (where do these people come from)!!
It is pretty funny to watch. Lance ate a total of 14 donuts!!!! He will dispute this and say he only ate 10 because he spit the last 4 out (apparently you only had to fit them all in your mouth and then whatever you did with them afterwards was your choice) either way it is crazy!!!
Lance and his fellow Infinate teammates were the first to arrive for round 1 of the donuts!!
He paid for it the rest of the day and vowed to never eat that many donuts again (although I think he will forget all about this by the time next year rolls around)!!! The winner ate around 30! For some reason the computer didn't pick his number up when he crossed the finish line so we don't know what he placed:( He was in the top 10 somewhere......Until next year I don't think Lance will be eating any donuts!!:)

Worth the hike!
I think it is so fun to see what the kids come up with on there own for Mother's Day and Father's day so once again I left it up to them to decide what they wanted to do. For Father's Day Cayden wanted to get Lance a new bike so that he could "ride fast and pass people"!! Apparently Cayden doesn't think that the 2 bikes Lance already has are getting the job done!! No matter how many times I asked him this week he would not change his mind. Lance had to settle instead for a new bike jacket that he wanted:) Carlie of course wanted to get him something more practical (chocolate covered cinnamon bears), Lance's favorite!! It was such a nice day we went for a hike. Lance's idea and my idea of a "little" hike are not he same!! The kids survived though and it ended up being a fun day. It paid off at the end when we made it to the waterfall:) Happy Father's Day!

A 4-Wheelin Adventure
We went 4-Wheelin with Lance's brother and his family this weekend in Manti. It was so much fun!! It was colder than we had hoped but we bundled up and enjoyed it anyway:) The kids rode with Lances brother because they had a back seat in their Rhino and we didn't.
Carlie, Cayden and cousin Gab
We went to breakfast on Saturday morning. When we pulled into the parking lot Carlie got so excited because she saw this person!
She couldn't think of his name and so she was trying to describe this person with red hair! We didn't see anyone so we couldn't figure out what she was talking about. She was so excited you would have thought she had just seen Hannah Montana!! When we walked up to the counter to order in walked Ronald McDonald himself!! Carlie was not so excited anymore when he was standing a foot in front of her (he is really tall in person):) She was scared to death of him and we had to force her to be in this picture (if you couldn't tell):) We had to get a picture though, after all how often do you go to Mcdonald's and see this guy!!
Nothing was going to stop us from getting to the top!! I am serious!!! You don't know how many times we came to a roadblock where you thought there was no way we could get around it and Joey would find a way!!:)
Going through as many mud puddles as we could, as fast as we could was the highlight of the trip!! I have never been that covered in mud before:) Lance would intentionally go through the mud just so I would get wet!!
The snow couldn't even stop some of us:) We just wish we would have video taped this sooner because it was so hilarious watching Lance and his brother trying to get themselves out of this one!!!
This is the best picture you get when you set the camera on another 4-wheeler to take a picture so that everyone is in it:)
On the way home! If only I could have gotten the picture of Cayden falling asleep while holding the spoon from his ice cream!! He was getting ready to take a bite and fell asleep!!:) The kids had so much fun and keep asking when we are going to go again!!
