Black Autobots.......

Soccer player #9
Taking a much deserved break!

Aren't they so cute!!

End of the game treats!! Always the best part:)

Cayden had his first soccer game today! Most of the team is made up of his friends from the neighborhood. His team is called the Black Autobots (I have no idea how they came up with that name). He did so good and even kicked the ball quite a ways down the field!! It was pretty funny to watch all those three year olds running around chasing after the ball:) He loved it and had so much fun! Good job Cayden!!!

Fair trade......

Since I help Carlie with all of her homework EVERY night I thought it is only fair that Lance should have to help Carlie with any special projects!! Sure enough she already had her first science project!! Lance (I mean Carlie:)) did a pretty good job I thought, so it is Lance's official job from now on to assist Carlie with ALL school projects!!:) She had to pick a habitat that they are learning about and create a shoebox representing that, she picked the ocean.

Cayden's big day has finally come!!

Today was Cayden's first day of preschool!! We were going to wait one more year to start preschool but my friend Lindsey decided to start one and Cayden has been so excited ever since he got his Thomas backpack for his birthday to go to school like his big sister!!! I am sure it has felt like forever since he has been ready since the end of May and has talked about it all summer!!!:) Cayden was upset this morning when I told him he couldn't go to preschool at 7:00 A.M.!! I can't believe he is so big! It seems like yesterday he was a newborn and Carlie was starting preschool:)

She finally did it!!

After wanting to do it for over a year but never daring to, Carlie finally decided that today was the day to get her ears pierced!!! We didn't think she would really go through with it but she did! I of course thought ahead and made sure that both her ears were pierced at the same time! I knew after one ear we would never get the second ear done if pierced separately:) I can't believe that they do not automatically pierce both at the same time on little kids!! Since both employees had to help pierce her ears there was quite a crowd of customers gathering around the counter. Right as they started counting to 3 you could have heard a pin drop!!! There was an abrupt silence while everyone was waiting to see what was going to happen (you would have thought that we had tied her to the chair and were making her do this)!!!! It was pretty funny to watch as everyone waited for Carlie to scream (at least I think that is what they were waiting for)!!:) They didn't get screaming just immediate crying but after about 5 minutes of crying and turning down a treat from the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory (I still don't know what she was thinking) everything was great:)

Starting to wonder........

It has been a week and I was starting to wonder if we had made a wrong choice moving Carlie to the Charter School. She was having such a hard time adjusting to the new school, not knowing anyone or having any friends. I was ready to put her back in our neighborhood school. We have finally adjusted though and she has made a little friend! She is excited to go to school and is happy when I pick her up! A complete turnaround from a couple days ago!! She has a wonderful teacher, Miss Lilly who has been great at making Carlie feel comfortable and welcome. I finally know that everything is going to work out and this is going to be a great school for Carlie, and Cayden eventually:)

1st Day of School.......Again

About a year ago I signed up for quite a few Charter Schools in the area hoping Carlie would make it into one. Last Friday we got the call that there was 2 openings for 1st grade at a school called American Prep and Carlie had been selected. For those of you that know about Charter Schools you know how extremely hard it is to get into one, if not impossible! They literally draw your name out of a hat, there is no order involved. We were a little disappointed that we got the call a week after Carlie started school. She had adjusted to her new class and teacher and had made some friends. She loved her teacher and I loved her teacher so it made the decision even harder, not to mention that Carlie did not want to have anything to do with switching schools!! It is a K-9 school which we love and they have a very high test score rating. They are a full iniform school so that will be a big adjustment for us but that does have a lot of benefits (if we wouldn't have already bought her a new wardrobe for school this year, school shopping would have been very cheap)!!:) They only have around 500 students so the class sizes are a lot smaller. They get a lot more one on one attention including breaking out into smaller groups for reading and math so they are with kids that are on the same level. Knowing that in the end this is a great opportunity and something that will be very positive for Carlie's future we decided to make the transition! Carlie is now an official American Prep student. It definitely will be an adjustment for all of us but a good one:)
We are trying to adjust to school starting at 8:15!!! We were still a little tired:)

Words of Wisdom from Cayden

This morning I was trying to get Cayden ready which is always a struggle and this was the conversation:

Me: Cayden, lets hurry and get ready so we can go with Korbin and his baby brother to walk the girls to school
Cayden: We don't have one of those yet
Me: I don't know if we are going to ever have one of those
Cayden: We should go buy one
I sure love that boy:)

Carlie's 1st day of School!

Carlie started 1st grade today! I thought it was a lot more stressful than when she went to Kindergarten because it is all day now(7 hours)! As one kid said, that is longer than it takes to get to Hawaii!!!! She was very excited about getting to have school lunch:) This day always seemed so far away and now it is here! Cayden and I are not going to know what to do during the day without her! We are so excited that she has such a great teacher, Mrs. Farrer:)

The day I thought would never come..........

Cayden is finally POTTY TRAINED!!!! After months of trying on and off and then the last 3 weeks of working continuously he finally has figured it out (Lance decided the day I came home from the hospital of all times, to start potty training and then left me to finish the job after he worked with him for about a week)!!! Nothing we tried seemed to work until we told him that he couldn't go to preschool until he learned to go on the potty. That was the trick! It has been a week now and he is completely potty trained day and night!! I was a little nervous at first to not put a pull up on him during the night but he would get very upset and refuse to let us put one on him. I guess it ended up better not putting it off and just learning it all at the same time. It was torture getting to this point but well worth all the stress now that it is over! He couldn't wait to go pick out a "big race car" now that he is a "big boy"!!!

2 Little Boys Giggling.........

Every inch of her carpet looked like this!!!

My friend Britni and I just thought our boys were having a great time up in Cayden's room playing! They were getting along so well, giggling and having so much fun...... DESTROYING CARLIE'S BEDROOM!!! Carlie did not think it was funny at all (and I wasn't thinking it was very funny either when I had to pick up a million beads)!! Cayden was still thinking about it today when he made the comment to us that he messed up Carlie's bedroom and "Carlie cried like a baby"!! Is he really only 3 years old???? I am in soooo much trouble!!
